DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

At COM-CAL they elaborate and distribute products for restoration and bio-construction, materials which are basically free from chemical additives and whose history has proven them to be extremely lasting. 

Their vocation is to carry out sales always accompanied by the recommendations and advice on the materials to be used. When we talk about natural finishing, the techniques to apply the material play a major role and it is the knowledge and know-how of whom is in charge of applying this material what ensures the durability of the works. The stuccoes and lime mortars and the natural paints (from lime or clay) are products which require a skilled labour and an advanced interpretation technique. 

Lime finishings are not only capable of creating notably-aesthetic finishes, but are also adequate in terms of humidity, letting the wall transpire. This breathability makes humidity not become a severe pathological problem, as it does happen with Portland cement mortars (which do not transpire well) or with the majority of plastic paints (not breathable at all). The fact they do not need chemical additives also enables the possibility of creating spaces free of volatile substances. 

The breathability between the interior and the exterior of the dwelling creates a bioclimatic regulation providing greater comfort and better habitability conditions. The fact that the dwelling transpires makes it simply a much more healthy and comfortable environment to live in.
