DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
The workshop manufactures all sorts of artistic works using iron. Especially worth mentioning are the Renaissance and Gothic style fences and grilles, handrails for staircases, luminaires, gates, domestic furniture (bed headrests, chairs, tables, etc.) and urban furniture (street benches, garden benches, lampposts, lanterns, bins, signs, etc.). All his works are carried out using millinery techniques at the forge, using mineral carbon, combining them with other more current techniques.
The workshop was declared in 2014 as a Punto de Interés Artesanal (Point of Artisanal Interest) by the Junta de Andalucía, which also awarded them with the title of Master Craftsmen.
From their early days in the craft, they have been worthy of different national prizes, among which can be highlighted: the Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Awards 2017 for their life’s work, First Prize under the category of forge in the Artesanía Unicaja Awards, XXIII edition, work titled “FERRUM”, by the Master Craftsman José Garrido Rus (2016), Special Prize of the province of Jaén within the Artesania Unicaja Awards, XXIII edition, work titled “IBERIA”, carried out by por Francisco Garrido Rus (2016), Special Prize under the category of forge in the Artesanía Unicaja Awards, XXIII edition, work titled ALDABA XVI” carried out by the father, Francisco Garrido Plaza (2016).

They inherited the passion for the craft from his father, Francisco Garrido Plaza, who taught them the craft.
