Jeroni Cerdà carries out pedra en sec (dry stone) works, which are extremely characteristic of the island of Mallorca.
Only stones are used to carry out this type of work, without mortars. The stones are carved one by one so they fit one against the other, with the aim of interlinking them and creating a compact element.
This technique is used for walls, terraces, columns and flooring.
The tools they use for this purpose are the same one which were used in the old days: hammers, picasses, punches, chisels, squares…
He learned from a master in the locality of Binissalem (Mallorca), and through a series of field tasks which required knowing these skills.
