DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

Sonia Argano carries out restorations and rehabilitations of façades using lime, lime washed coatings of historic buildings and mural paintings. Moreover, she also carries out new works for wall paintings, fresco paintings, hot-ironed stuccos and sgraffito techniques.

APPRENTICESHIP

Course relating to how to execute lime stuccos, carried out in the institution Instituto Gaudí de la Construcción in Barcelona and imparted by the lime master Joan Campreciòs, 2001.

Course to become a specialist in rehabilitation and restoration of buildings led by the institution Instituto Gaudí de la Construcción, in Barcelona, 2000.

Course on Restoration and Rehabilitation of Buildings delivered by the institution Escuela Taller Aramunt – under the authority of the Regional Government of Catalonia. (Aramunt, Lleida), 1994.

Teacher regarding the Conservation and Restoration of Wall Paintings, Mosaics and Museumization of Archaeological Sites at the École Chantier Sid I el Houari dÓran (Argelia), within an international cooperation programme under the authority of the institution Asociación de Restauradores sin Fronteras and the AECID, 2010.

Director of the School-Workshop of Seu d’Urgell under the authority of the Occupational Training Patronage of the Town Council, carrying out management duties, the coordination of practical activities, and also giving lessons on subjects regarding complementary training and employability of the students, 2008-2010.

SELECTED WORKS

Execution of all the lime finishings of two newly-built dwellings in Lajares (Fuerteventura), 2016.

Intervention in the Conservation of gothic wall paintings in one of the arches of the church of St. Agustí of Seu d’Urgell, currently rehabilitated and turned into a municipal library, 2012.

Execution of the new lime stuccos using the sgraffito technique in the façade of the Joan Antoni de Encamp House, in Andorra, with the firm Joystuc, 2011.

Coordination and execution of a restoration and rehabilitation project for a private manor house within the old town of Andorra la Vella (Cal Closca del Pui de Andorra la Vella), 2005-2006.
