The stuccoes and lime mortars and the natural paints (from lime or clay) are products which require a skilled labour and an advanced interpretation technique. 

Lime finishings are not only capable of creating notably-aesthetic finishes, but are also adequate in terms of humidity, letting the wall transpire. This breathability makes humidity not become a severe pathological problem, as it does happen with Portland cement mortars (which do not transpire well) or with the majority of plastic paints (not breathable at all). The fact they do not need chemical additives also enables the possibility of creating spaces free of volatile substances.
