Pepe Rodrigo is a specialist in the work with earth as a construction material, and does so using the traditional procedures: he first chooses the earths, he analyses their behaviour, he mixes them with water and straw, and with the help of some machinery he… creates the adobes which, after having been left to sun-dry, may be used on site.
To manufacture walls and pillars he uses a combination of that same clay, and, on occasions, he also adds a particular traditional additive such as limestone. After erecting a wall, he protects it from rain, wind and sun with a cladding, which will be more or less rough, depending on the final finish the construction requires.
He has carried out numerous restorations in the surroundings of Burbáguena.
He started by helping out his father when he was only 8. He learnt the craft from him and from other builders.
