ACTIVITY
ADFORT is a family business set up in 1986 with the document of Artisanal Qualification number 1254 issued by the Consellería d’Industria, Comerç i Turisme of the Generalitat Valenciana. Its activity is mainly focussed on the manipulation and decoration of glass and crystal using the… techniques of sandblasting, acid etching, glass painting with enamels and grisailles (muffle furnace), leaded stained glass windows, Tiffany stained glass windows, casting and fusing.
They collaborate with construction managers to provide practical solutions and means to retrieve building elements for interventions, incorporating both traditional techniques and innovative products in this field.
Their workshop has a pneumatic installation and it is also equipped with punctual suction devices, machinery and tools for the transformation of any structure made out of steel or other adaptable metals used for the different glass elements. They also count with large capacity ovens both for two-dimension and three-dimension pieces, enabling the manufacture and treatment of artistic glass.
They also have a great amount of different types of glass which enables them to create different textures and colours in the muffle furnace with enamels and grisailles. They also have the necessary for them to be able to re-roll and to create their own personalized lead profiles. Moreover, they have a large area where they can control and study the effects of light thanks to a series of both vertical and horizontal light tables where they examine, study and take pictures of the stained glass windows.
TRAINING
The staff of the business has been trained at the Escola D’Arts i Oficis in Valencia, the Escola D’Arts del Centre del Vidre in Barcelona and the Faculty of Fine Arts, specializing in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Goods, in the Universidad Politécnica of Valencia.
The… best apprenticeship has come from the experience they have had in the many different interventions carried out in almost thirty years of work.
TEACHING
Teacher at the schools/workshops as a Trainer for Trainers qualified by the INEM and in courses on glass for the SARC/Provincial Council in Valencia and the Universidad Politécnica of Valencia, in Sagunto. In the workshop itself courses on glass are imparted aimed at professionals, teachers… and students, among others.
