Calle La Ermita, s/n – 05635 Navarredonda de Gredos
Alfredo Apausa’s artisan carpentry shop uses mostly pinewood, along with some chestnut and oak. He harvests pine directly from woods, cutting it from January to October, which enables him to control its drying (as each year a layer of up to 2 cm dries naturally).…
He works with traditional techniques as regards construction systems, jointing, etc., and does work in the local tradition as learnt through observing existing woodwork.
He does all sorts of carpentry and joinery: doors, windows, balustrades, roof and floor structures and also any furniture that he is asked to make, along with woodcarving.
He uses ordinary carpenter’s tools: saws, gouges, chisels, planes, etc., as well as the machinery that is now indispensable, such as a mechanical saw, lathe, sander, planer-thicknesser, etc.
Alfredo is self-taught.
