A firm of carpenters by family tradition from Los Lodos in the municipality of Grado, dedicated to recovering ethnographic features of Asturian culture. It restores hórreo and panera granaries (the latter having six or more staddle stones) according to the guidelines of the Asturian Heritage… and Culture Agency, using the recommended materials (chestnut and oak) and traditional Asturian methods.
On occasion they relocate these granaries, marking every piece, dismantling the structure and reassembling it on a new site. They also build new ones according to traditional models and systems and to architects’ designs, as per each customer’s preferences.
They install new roof frames and other such structures as well as refurbishing wooden roofing, eaves and floor structures, replacing damaged or worn pieces with new ones of a similar kind.
Manuel Antonio García started out as an apprentice in a carpentry shop in Oviedo at the age of 16.
The firm has received students on placements from the Arzobispo Valdés Salas Secondary School.
