Potter’s workshop founded in 1954.
They manufacture traditional bricks, tiles and other special pieces.
The manufacture of traditional bricks is carried out manually. They use clay from the area, which is kept covered so it does not lose its humidity and, by means of a metallic mould,… they manufacture bricks in twos. They place the bricks on the floor for them to dry, a process which takes from two to six weeks depending on the thickness of the piece and the time of year. Once the top of the piece is dry, they turn the pieces round so the rest of the surface ends up being also completely dry. Clay tiles are manufactured in a similar way, in different sizes and thicknesses. They also manufacture tailored ceramic pieces depending on the needs of the client. Since the year it was founded, the pieces have been fired in the traditional wood furnace of the workshop.
The knowledge of the craft has been passed on from one generation to the next for three generations. The founder, Manuel Torres, left the business and the craft for the generations which came after him. Today it is his grandson, Gustavo Torres, who leads the… family business.
