Alteret Cerámicas is a family-run business dedicated to the manufacture of artisanal ceramics, which was founded in 1964. It is located in the area of an old potter’s workshop in the municipality of Villalonga (Valencia). It is one of the main producers of manual terracotta… in both Spain and Europe. They manufacture in an artisanal way fired clay flooring and finishings and they are specialists in the artisanal restoration of fired clay pieces.
Today this company manufactures ceramics following the traditional artisanal methods, moved by the development of new creative techniques. The work these artisans carry out implies they have to be highly qualified.
Their manufacture of flooring and finishings made of manual terracotta is completely artisanal. Each and every one of the pieces they manufacture have been done so by hand. Part of that manufacture is enamelled and decorated – also by hand – by their master craftsmen.
Alteret has the document which defines them as an artisanal company by the Comunidad Valenciana, awarded to them in 1996 by the Consellería d´Industria, Comercio y Energía of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Today they export over two thirds of their production, sending their products over to more than 20 different countries.
