Calle Santa María de la Cañada, 71 – 29400 Ronda
Francisco is a specialist in craft stonemasonry and does all sorts of natural stonework with traditional methods, both for new building and for restoration.
Over 46 years he has made countless fountains, doorways, facades, busts, fireplaces, columns, cornices, coats of arms, mouldings, mausoleums, ceiling medallions, finials… and other ornamental features. He has also done other stonework with cobbles, kerbs and slabs.
He works his local stone, i.e. sandstone from Ronda. He uses both traditional tools, such as club or bell hammers, point chisels, tooth chisels, bush hammers and flat chisels of various sizes, and on occasion also power tools allowing him to save labour in certain tasks.
He belongs to a family of stoneworkers in which knowledge of the trade has been handed down over five generations.
