Obelisco is a business specialized in the elaboration of stone elements. They carry out any type of work using stone such as: chimneys, barbecues, columns, window frames, ashlars, paving, cruceiros, fountains, bars, balusters… and special sculpture works.

The material they use is natural stone, such as… marble. However, above all, they use granite in its different tones and hardness (Gris Mondariz, Rosa Porriño…).

Regarding the work process they follow, in the first place they transform the granite blocks -extracted directly from the quarry – with cutting saws. With the different slabs they obtain from the blocks they carry out the different works. The primary elaboration is carried out with industrial machinery to speed up the process and avoid possible injuries. However, the finishes to the pieces are always manual (carved, bush-hammered, with a special design…). The final manual touch is carried out with the aid of a pneumatic hammer, a chisel and a mallet or with any other typical stonemason’s manual tool.
