Camino de Vereda 3, El Romani (Sollana)
Fusta Blinds makes wooden Venetian blinds with artisanal decoration. This involves the use of products such as patinas, glazes, gold and silver leaf and Judea bitumen, applied with utensils such as brushes, sticks, sponges and other tools made by hand for achieving effects as desired.
All… components of wooden blinds (slats, head rail, bottom rail, wand and tassel) are painted, decorated and finished one by one, by hand. The end product is also assembled manually.
The firm’s models are developed in the factory, so the techniques and tools used are also developed by these craft workers.
Techniques passed on by veterans to new arrivals in the factory over more than 20 years, starting with the simpler techniques and after at least 3 months’ experience moving on to more complex tasks.
Learners are taught by veterans, so training is given hands-on within the company.
