ACTIVITY
La Lazada Granada is a family joinery and cabinetry firm that makes strapwork carpentry, Mudéjar ceilings, doors, carvings and design furniture.
Regarding Mudéjar and beam-and-panel ceilings, José Toral has restored these ornate wooden structures in historic buildings as well as manufacturing new ceilings in the Mudéjar… style.
Depending on the project type, in such work he employs either traditional craftsmanship, including the techniques of Nasrid art, or modern implements, such as CNC machines.
TRAINING
José Toral López is partly self-taught, and also received training at the Granada School of Arts and Crafts.
TEACHING
He has trained apprentices such as Manuel Reyes Ballesteros, Luciano Iáñez, Samir Maalouf or Luis García González-Tejero.
