Roberto Figueira’s trade is carpentry, woodcarving and joinery. He makes doors, windows, staircases, floor and roof structures and furniture in various styles.
He builds all sorts of wooden assemblies using traditional techniques and tools (planes, a two-man saw, handsaws, chisels and gouges). He also uses modern… glues and resins for joints. His finishes are executed with wax, shellac, oil or (according to use) modern varnishes and lasur stains.
