The Gelves Craft Training School belongs to the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) Network of Training Centres, attached to the Department of Employment, Business and Self-Employment (Government of Andalusia).
The School began operating in the field of ceramics in 1993 and joined SAE in November 2015 as… part of its network of training schools for employment
Over time it has incorporated other specialist fields of training with the aim of revitalising and placing value on Andalusian craft heritage. The courses offered include the craft manufacture of ceramics and decorative wood carving.
The School’s aims are to:
– Train qualified professional craftspeople and help them enter the labour market
– Help currently active artisans to specialise and refresh their skills
– Research and experiment with new working methods contributing to the conservation of artistic heritage
– Disseminate artistic work and activities with the aim of fostering cultural exchanges with centres in other countries and regions
