All sorts of work with stone and marble, especially historical heritage restoration.
– Artistic stone-carving with traditional techniques, according to the historical methods suited to the heritage asset concerned.
– Walls and other structures built of dry stone or with traditional lime mortars.
– Arches and vaults built… with traditional stereotomy methods.
– Structural additions required on archaeological sites.
– Restoration of stonework: cleaning, consolidation, etc.
TRAINING
– Graduate in conservation and restoration of cultural assets, specialising in sculpture, at the Higher Art School of Asturias.
– Grade 1 qualified stonemason, a trade learnt by family tradition, transmitted from one generation to the next since the 19th century.
SELECTED WORK
– Restoration and preparation for display of the foundations of the Romanesque church at the Monastery of San Juán Corias (Asturias)
– Bracing of sculptures by Master Mateo in Plaza del Obradoiro (Santiago de Compostela) for transfer to the Prado Museum
– Participation in restoration works at… the Cathedral of Vitoria, the Church of San Pablo in Valladolid, and the former Cathedral of Roda de Isábena (province of Huesca)
