ACTIVITY
Luis García is a builder who works with diverse traditional construction techniques. In recent times he has focussed on building with earth, along with coatings, renders and plasters featuring earth and lime.
He works in the field of traditional architecture in keeping with the original methods,… reproducing them as they would have been applied in their day.
He has worked in many private projects where, thanks to the owners’ sensibility, he has been able to revive various traditional techniques in renders, roofing and rammed-earth walls.
TRAINING
Luis inherited his knowledge of traditional building methods from his uncles and through the teachings of other master builders, as his family has engaged in building for over four generations.
He supplemented this knowledge by taking courses while also developing his hands-on expertise in various traditional… architectural techniques. He has attended many courses on the practice of traditional building methods, notably including ones given by Laurent Coquemont, Fermín Font, Jon Santibañez, Xavi Salvador and Patrick McAfee.
