ACTIVITY
Tallas Garra is a firm dedicated to carving in a range of woodwork used in architecture and building, such as doors, stairs, ceilings, walls, verandas, balconies, wooden ceilings, cantilevered overhangs, etc. Carving is what differentiates this kind of woodwork from other modern building methods.
The firm… restores churches, Easter floats and image carriers, palace ceilings and walls, murals for hotel lobbies, etc., and also makes decorative objects.
It currently supplies furniture factories, joinery workshops and other companies requiring carpentry services.
TRAINING
José María started out in the trade as an apprentice at the age of 14. He was trained in various workshops and today heads the firm.
SELECTED WORK
He has supplied large companies such as TDM and others in Barcelona, with which since 1991 he has done countless jobs for palaces in the Arab world, such as that of King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, and other palaces in many other countries as well… as in Marbella (Spain).
For Torneados Muñoz in Yecla he carved a stairway with 800 balusters for the Russian president.
