Gorka Mozo carries out carving works and placing of stone, marble and tiling; building works in general; stone and marble sculpture; stereotomy of stone and restoration works on heritage. 

He carries out stone works in a traditional way without using mechanical tools (except optionally for certain… works). He uses traditional tools (bush hammers, toothed stone axes, sledgehammers – a special type called maza gallega – pillories, tooth chisels, bull point chisels, hand chisels…), giving different finishes to the pieces (bush hammered, knife-carved, pointed or via the use of a pillory) and having used different stones (limestone, marble, granite, slate…).

For sculptures, he uses the technique of “direct carving” where one carves the piece without having carried out a previous model of it – using a previous sketch – and also the “pointing technique” to carry out copies of other already-finished pieces. 

He also manufactures more complex stone pieces for constructions, such as arches, vaults, spiral staircases…

In the restoration of heritage he carries out the cleaning of the stone, the substitution of damaged pieces because of the passing of time, the restoration with stone mortar (for cornices, ashlars, gargoyles, decorative pieces…), the elaboration of new pieces, etc.
