ACTIVITY
José Manuel Lucio is part of a family firm that makes roofs and other structures by traditional methods, seeking as far as possible to use local wood and to restore and reuse any reclaimable timber.
TRAINING
He learnt the trade from his family and was mentored by his father, uncle and grandfather. He is now a fourth-generation carpenter, and his son is also following in his footsteps in the carpentry trade.
He took a specialist joinery course at the Padre Aramburu School… in Burgos.
TEACHING
He has taught for over ten years at trade schools and job-training workshops in the Merindades district, training some 40 pupils.
