Isaac Pérez is a glass engraver. In his workshop he carries out the carving and artistic engraving of whatever-type of motive in all sorts of hollow and flat glass: glass elements for doors, glasses, cups, vases, decanting elements, bottles, jars, trays and engravings in flat… glass. He uses a lathe and a millstone to work on these elements.
The elaboration process is as follows:
Manually drawing a series of marks on the piece (which will serve as an indicative guide)
Engraving of the piece with a millstone of different types, turned by hand.
Polishing of the engraving until it ends up with the desired aspect
Cleaning of the excess powder coming from the shaping of the glass piece
The tools and machinery required are the stone lathe, the table where to establish the marks to guide the shaping of the glass, a millstone, a water basin, diamond paste rectifiers, felt-tip pens, and various sorts of wheels and wiping cloths, among others.
