The artisanal stonemason’s workshop belonging to Xosé Calviño Doval is located in the region of Deza, more specifically in the town council in Rodeiro.

The materials with which he works are local granites, even if on occasions he also uses wood. His workshop is dedicated to… the carving of stone, the manufacture of stone works and pieces, ornamental sculpture, as well as the elaboration of functional and decorative stone pieces. He also carries out rehabilitations and restorations of dwellings, stone walls, etc. The main type of requests this workshop receives are the following: pantheons, finishing elements, cruceiros, heraldic elements, fountains, stone benches, stone tables, barbecues, columns, capitals, wells and stone façades, stone works and pieces, traditional architecture and all sorts of artistic stone pieces. 

The creative process has different phases, and the artisan aims to satisfy the client’s demands. Once they find together what the client actually wants to build, the artisan kicks off his work and starts an artisanal process to manufacture elements which will always be unique. Xosé Calviño tries to materialize in his pieces the wishes of those who decide to approach him, always under the premise of carrying out a unique quality piece of work.
